Blues and blacks snuff out the final glowing embers of dusk on Sanibel Island as bone colored shell fragments phosphoresce against darkening beach sand in the dying light. Condominium windows at Ocean's Reach resort emit a soft beacon of light painted in the same shades as the now set sun. Somewhere in the background, the ocean growls and soothes.
